Negotiating for German property: fair value
Some owners state their price and that’s it, take it or leave it.
Most sellers however, show a bit more flexibility and are open for negotiations.
Compare prices from different listings to get a feel of what is a fair price. Be sure to read the part about German realtors and agents before you contact him.
Your broker should be able to tell you if the asking price is realistic or not.
Another possibility is, to ask a licensed architect to establish the fair value; this will set you back 300 - 800 Euro's, but that could be worthwile to prevent a big mistake.
